Heartbreak Bridge

We live right near some beautiful hiking trails on our mountain. We also have two bridges--one of them we have named heartbreak bridge. It has come by that name from mysterious bouquets of roses that appear every couple months thrown into the water. These are not old flowers--they are beautiful, store bought roses that someone has thrown off the bridge from disappointment. The other day when we were taking our daily walk we saw a single rose fallen into the water and collected it and brought it in and placed it in a vase--it is gorgeous! I would love to know the real story behind the rose but for now all I can do is conjecture.

I love our Mountain walks

The other day Chloe and I took a nice long walk up the top of our mountain, there is quite the view up there. I am really enjoying the whole moby wrap, it's great bonding time and so much easier to carry my little baby! So here are some pictures from the walk.

Yard Sale Week 3

Last week we had the youth conference so we were only able to stop at a couple yard sales and I picked up a pair of Cars shoes for Gideon for $.50 and a play vacuum for the kids for $.50. This week we went as a family and hit a few yard sales and it was quite fun! Tirzah found a princess chair for $1! My favorite find for the day is the bath seat as I've looked for one and they don't sell them in most stores because parents leave their children in the bathtub and they drown...so parents that have three children and could use a little help balancing baby are made to suffer! So I found one for $2 and am so happy!!!!! It's wonderful! I also found a shopping cart for $1.50 to resell and a play food mixer for $3 for resell. The kids are also very happy with the Little People Car Garage for $1.50. That is a good find!!!
Update for the first week. I was able to sell the Leap Frog table I bought for $.25 for $5...and I sold the carseat I bought for $8 at cost to my sister in law. I was able to cover pretty much all I bought with what I sold. That's always nice!

Spring Fling

At Joshua's school they have a spring party called spring fling. They have free food and yummy ice cream made nearby at Homestead Creamery! Joshua's mom came with me to help with the kids and we met Joshua for lunch! My sister Beth and Isaiah came as well. We walked around seeing what students are up to and met Joshua's fellow teachers and students.

Yummy Ice cream!
Beth taught me how to moby wrap with a piece of fabric I had laying around! It's great!
My kids don't like cotton candy...I do!

Sisters Playing

Chloe is almost big enough for the crib. She is too big for her bassinet so we are getting ready for the big move of having all three little ones in the same room! Right now Chloe is sleeping in the living room till we can get Gideon and Tirzah situated. The plan is this week to bring in bunk beds and divide them and move the futon out of their room. We'll see how it works. Meanwhile Tirzah and Gideon LOVE Chloe and enjoy playing with her!

Aunt Ruthie Comes to Visit

I had my youngest sister Ruthann out for a visit last week and boy did Gideon and Tirzah have a fun time with her. She kept them occupied for hours!
One day we went to the river to feed ducks which wound up being geese. I picked up a camp friend of Ruthann's that goes to our chapel. They loved being able to throw rocks in the water and watch the geese.

When we first moved into Happy Hollow I thought this underbrush by the creek would be the perfect place for children to play! It would seem I was right, they set up a table and play food and played for hours!

Gideon "fishing" off the bridge with a fishing rod that Ruthann made for him. They didn't have a hook or bait so they tied an onion on the end...so cute!

Cousins and a Trip to the Fire Station

Last week we went and visited Uncle Zach at the firestation and he gave us a wonderful tour of the station and how everything worked. We learned about the fire engine and the ambulance, got to see someone slide down the pole. It was so much fun! I even learned!

All the kids inside
We were joined by Crystal and her kids, Beth and Isaiah, my Mom and the three youngest children so we had quite the little group! Zach was such a great teacher!

Playing Piano with Mr. Mark

On Sunday I found Tirzah playing the piano with Mr. Mark from our chapel. She would just look at him adoringly and listen to the beautiful music he was playing. She eventually joined in playing a few notes in the lower keys. I also have a video...
